Cubes are the refined form of six drop materials. They feed a wide range of armor and combo upgrades, and they are what you need for refining weapons and skills to or from an attribute.

All of them are refined by Shataram, who stands in Yerden. Cubes also drop directly on the higher maps.

Players almost always use the short name, so both are listed here.

Seed of Yen is usually the one in shortest supply. If you are farming with no particular target in mind, SOY is rarely a wasted trip.
